Committees
The school council has a number of committees--groups of parents (and sometimes staff) that work together on specific issues. Committees set their own schedule and might meet a few times a year or just once. It is the job of the committee chair to report on the committee’s activities at council meetings, making sure that the council knows about and supports the activities of the committee, and provides the resources that the committee needs. The school council’s committees become more active when there is parent interest, or in response to specific issues or needs.
